Nutella No Bake Cookies

This recipe is back from 2012.  I decided it was overdue for some updated pics and since I make these all the time, I wanted to re-share them with all of you.

Here is my original post:
No Bake Cookies are one of those cookies that I could eat EVERY SINGLE DAY.  I have been eating them as long as I can remember and I still have never gotten sick of them.  The funny thing is, that I had been craving no-bakes for the past few weeks, but I never made them, because I thought - no one wants to see the same old no bake recipe.  Then, last night I found NUTELLA NO BAKE COOKIES.  For real!!!
What a fun twist on an old classic.  I crossed my fingers that I still had enough Nutella left in the jar - oh and I did, but only for a half a batch.  But hey, better than nothing.  They turned out delicious.  So creamy and chewy just how I like them.  We ate these things so fast and I only have one left.  These are super yummy.

Nutella No Bake Cookies
adapted from: Shugary Sweets
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
1/4 c. Nutella
3 c. quick-cooking oats

In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cocoa powder, milk and butter.  Cook over medium heat, stirring until the butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.  Bring to a boil.  Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, salt, peanut butter and Nutella.  Last, stir in the oats and quickly drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.  Allow to harden and enjoy.

  1. So glad you enjoyed them. I have made them with all nutella, they are much softer, but if you keep them refrigerated they stand up okay!!!

    1. The original recipe said to boil for one minute, but as soon as mine comes to a boil I remove it from the heat! Just make sure your sugar is dissolved. - Jenn

  4. Oh I didn't think the cookie would set up if you didn't boil it for a couple of minutes. :)

    1. I always remove mine from the heat right when they boil and I have NEVER had a problem having them set up, but if you are worried, I would go ahead and boil for a minute or two! -Jenn

  11. Oh no, Jenn! These might be my daughter's new favorite cookie. She is a serious nutella and chocolate lover -I've caught her eating it out of the jar with a spoon. I would definitely win mom of the year if I make her these cookies.

I followed you over from the Nifty Thrifty linky party. I would love if you stopped by my blog.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Laura

  19. Just a suggestion ;) instead of adding all nutella and no peanut butter to get more hazelnut flavor, try keeping the recipe as is except instead of 2tsp Vanilla exchange 1/4 for almond. It adds just the right amount of extra nuttiness! ;)

  21. Hi! I LOVE this recipe and want to try it, but I'm curious - do you think they'd handle being shipped to my deployed husband? In a sealed ziplock, in a box? Do they "melt" if not *kept* refrigerated? He typically gets my boxes in 7-10 days...

    1. Hi Marian - Honestly, I don't think they would taste very good in 7-10 days. We usually try to eat them up in about 4 days, because they start to get a little dry and crumbly, but I don't keep mine in a ziplock either. So, you could make a batch, wrap them up and then taste them in 7-10 days and see if they still taste okay to you? I don't keep mine refrigerated and they keep just fine. I don't know that they would melt unless it was really really hot? - Jenn

  24. i just finished making these for a kids party tonight. they're a bit too sweet though i think a 1/4th cup less of sugar would suffice. i hope the kids will enjoy them but i accidently made them very large so 1 per kid would certainly be enough LOL
